The CIRI is a leading actor in tomorrow infectiology researchers training.
With over 37 associate professors and professors from Lyon 1 University (Universite Claude Bernard-Lyon 1) and Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon (ENSL), the CIRI is involved in the best basic science and medical programs in Lyon. CIRI-affiliated laboratories also represent a unique place for international pre-doctoral and PhD students to perform their training program: in close interaction with complementary teams competent in specific fields (immunology, virology, etc…), they benefit from a stimulating transdisciplinary scientific environment. Over 130 pre-doctoral students and 68 PhD students from more than 30 countries around the world have been hosted in CIRI teams since 2010.
The CIRI also puts a special interest in sharing its activity with the civil society: it is involved in several scientific manifestations as well as in the hosting of young secondary school students.
French universities have a program structure that conforms to the European “LMD” system:
• Licence: Bachelor’s degree obtained after 3 years of undergraduate studies
• Master: Master’s degree obtained after 2 years of Master’s studies
• Doctorat: Doctorate degree obtained after 3 or 4 years of research studies.
A study program consists in a series of courses known as UEs (“Unités d’Enseignement” or “course units”). Hereafter, you may browse the UEs in which the CIRI is involved.
Courses from medical and professional (DUT, “Diplôme Universitaire Technologique” or Technological University Degree) programs are also listed.
