Research Engineer at the Faculty of Medicine of St-Etienne, GIMAP Team
The research engineer will work in the GIMAP (Mucosal Immunity and Pathogens Group), team 15 of the Centre International de Recherche en Infectiologie (CIRI) located on the Santé Innovations campus at the Faculty of Medicine of St-Etienne. The GIMAP wishes to develop new approaches to study the interactions between antibodies, pathogens and nasal and digestive mucosa. The research engineer will participate in the themes of host-pathogen interactions and mucosal therapeutic applications. In particular, the engineer will strengthen research projects in collaboration with other CIRI teams on the mucosal interactions of different pathogens (S. aureus, HIV, Flu, SARS). The candidate will be able to develop new models and new technologies as well as his/her own research themes in close connection with the research axes of the team.

Two Postdoc position in virology.
Two postdoctoral position are available in Host-pathogen interaction during lentiviral infection to work on (1) the identification and characterization of novel innate defense proteins that modulate the replication of the type 1 human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) (ANRS funded); (2) the characterization of a novel mechanism of translation inhibition that our lab has recently described for the cellular antiviral factor ISG20 against different families of RNA viruses (ANR funded).

Research Engineer Immunotherapy
The research engineer will participate in the coordination of immunotherapy projects within the EVIR team. This translational research axis aims to develop innovative strategies combining cell and gene therapy for applications in infectiology, cancer and autoimmune diseases.
At the same time, the research engineer will ensure the management of a humanized mouse platform with the help of dedicated technical staff.

Host Pathogen Interaction in Lentiviral Infection Laboratory is actively seeking for one highly motivated post doctoral candidate to work on the relationship between human immunodeficiency viruses (HIVs) and the family of Interferon-Induced Transmembrane Proteins (IFITMs), exciting antiviral effectors capable of targeting HIV as well as a broad range of very distinct viruses. IFITMs block the fusion between viral and cellular membranes and the goal of the project is to determine the exact mechanism through which this is orchestrated.
